SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:Therapists (screen) writing group – Friday\, 26th of June\, 6-9pm\, nea\n\nThis group is to have fun\, lighthearted discussions of movies\, TV shows and novels and also for colleagues who are actively writing to develop their skills. It is supported by Stephen Gyllenhaal. In-person meeting in central London (Library Rooms near Bond Street) and hybrid/online versions. \n\nThis group is not a formal screenwriting training. But we take our inspiration from Psychoanalysis Goes To The Movies (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1544839415632398) \nand our recognition that many of us love to analyse TV shows and movies and also have our own ideas of what could be created. Many colleagues also write blogs\, guest columns\, or novels. This group invites colleagues to join a supportive and fun atmosphere to discuss plot-lines\, share the enjoyment (and pain) of existing shows/literature\, and support colleagues who are actively writing something to develop their skills. \nIf you are a therapist involved in (creative) writing\, whether with the intent of publishing or just for fun\, and would be interested in contributing to leading this group\, please be in touch. \n£15 per event to contribute to room rent and snacks \n  \nThe Cake for the event is from the Luminary Bakery (www.luminarybakery.com) which is a social enterprise helping women who have experienced domestic violence and trauma return to the work market. It is a business with a therapeutic mission\, led with extraordinary care\, which serves as a good example of what a ‘Psychologically Informed Environment’ (PIE) can achieve if the philosophy is taken out of the consulting room. \nCPD: 1.5 hours with certificate. Online | In-person | Hybrid \nThese groups are for therapists only. Therapeutic qualification and registration with a UK accrediting body (UKCP\, BACP\, HCPC\, BABCP\, analytic institutes etc) will need to be verified upon booking.

SUMMARY:Private Practice/Business Development Peer Supervision - ONLINE - monthly
DESCRIPTION:Private Practice/Business Development Group – Peer Supervision. ONLINE\, monthly. \nSunday\, 28th of June\, 3-4pm. £25 to contribute to the running costs of our project\, which is not for profit.  \nWith psychotherapist and marketing expert Cindy Gale – following up from her teaching workshop on basics of marketing for private practice\, 20th of June\, 11am-1pm. It will be helpful for you to attend the workshop\, as this peer supervision uses this as basis for ongoing development. \nThis event is a monthly peer supervision group for all colleagues interested in developing their private practice or any other business venture they are working on. We will share our tips and experiences with marketing\, advertising\, practice development\, and all other business skills acquired. Topics discussed so far were marketing\, SEO\, social media strategies\, where to find good experts\, how to develop specialisms for private work and promote them locally\, in partnership with other services and colleagues. \nReasons: \n\nBecause Business Skills are not part of our training but they should be.\nBecause our ‘product’ is unique as is complex and needs to be clinically and ethically sound in order to be of good quality – ‘business’ and ‘marketing’ therefore need to be thought about in a more holistic way.\nBecause ‘mental health’ has become a huge market and our profession is under threat from venture capital firms (platformisation) and other bigger-scale for-profit businesses which seek to exploit therapists and customers – we therefore must work together to protect our practice spaces\, integrity\, and clients.\n\nAction: to sign up\, please email therapists.cafe@protonmail.com
